Power/Electrical Design Technician

The Power and Process Group is looking for individuals that can help us grow our Power & Process Division.  If you enjoy working in a team environment, collaborating with staff and have the entrepreneurial spirit, this is an opportunity for you. Our market focus is twofold: 1) the production and distribution of power for private, municipal and utility facilities; and 2) process focused heavy industrial, chemical, midstream/downstream oil & gas facilities.

Position Requirements:

  • 1- 5 years of experience drafting and design of power and electrical systems.
  • Familiar with the NEC and NESC.
  • Must be a team player and have interest in developing and continuing to develop skills for a long time career in the field of electrical engineering.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD required, and Revit proficiency is a plus.
  • An understanding of how to produce a highly detailed set of electrical construction drawing is a must.
  • Must possess a high attention to detail and a proven ability to multi-task
  • Strong desire to learn and be an integral part of a team environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architectural or Electrical Engineering a plus but not required.

Position Duties:

  • Performs design computations by hand and by computer software. Uses experience, education, and judgement to make informed decisions. Retains knowledge and builds on previous experiences to increase capabilities in breadth and complexity.
  • Organizes multiple tasks and completes them in an orderly fashion.
  • Effectively communicates and coordinates with the Engineer and other PEC Divisions in order to complete design tasks on numerous projects.
  • Reviews project submittals for compliance with design checklists and drafting standards.
  • Organizes project information and drawing files in a manner that is accessible and understandable for current and future use.
  • Researches and understands client drafting and CAD standards and its relevance to the design process.
