Structural Design Engineer

Structural Engineers at PEC must be technically competent in the following areas:

  • Steel, Concrete, and CMU design
  • Gravity and Lateral Systems, Load Paths
  • Equipment Foundation Design is preferred
  • Building Codes including IBC, AISC, ACI and ASCE, etc.
  • Calculation software such as RISA, RAM, etc.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs design computations by hand and by computer software. Uses experience, education, and judgement to make informed decisions. Retains knowledge and builds on previous experiences to increase capabilities in breadth and complexity.
  • Organizes multiple tasks and completes them in an orderly fashion.
  • Communicates and coordinates effectively with the Project Engineer and other PEC Divisions to complete design tasks on numerous projects.
  • Organizes and manages own workload on multiple project assignments.
  • Reviews project deliverables for compliance with design checklists and drafting standards.
  • Attends Client meetings.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an accredited college.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering Exam; Intern Engineer (I.E.).
  • Capable in oral and written communication.
